For questions about the Display Garden on Suncrest, please contact us via email at
Working in the display garden is a social and learning experience. The volunteers here plant, weed, mulch and design gardens. They also build stone walls, lay brick pathways, maintain waterfalls and maintain all garden hardscape. Every workday in the garden is an opportunity to engage with other gardeners, make new friends, gain gardening knowledge or add a new skill to your gardening repertoire.
Master Gardener volunteers and trainees are always welcome and needed. Please join us on any scheduled workday. Volunteer to work in a garden bed that is of special interest to you. Experience is helpful but not necessary!
The garden is located in Lapeer, Michigan just behind the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. Parking is available for garden guests through the gate at the south side of the main parking area in the front of the building or at the rear of the building on the north side of the garden. The main garden entrance is on the south side of the pavilion and is framed by an entry arch. From the parking in the rear of the building, entry to the garden is gained via the sidewalk along the Hydrangea Garden on the hill.
Visitors may bring a picnic lunch and stop to eat or rest in the pavilion located on the grounds. Special events such as weddings, showers, confirmations, club meetings, etc., are sometimes held in the pavilion. To schedule the pavilion for a special event, contact the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
